Sam started his career as a Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) in the Commercial Crime Unit in the Attorney General Chambers in 1992. After 5 years in the Attorney General Chambers, he later joined the Securities Commission until June 2000.He then joined the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), a statutory body responsible for the communications and multimedia industry until 2008.

In September 2008, Sam joined the entrepreneurial world by opening up a small consulting firm that specializes on Intellectual Property and Copyright and also co-founded an information and network security company, IntersecuTech Co Sdn Bhd that has done work in Malaysia, Korea and Myanmar. Some of IntersecuTech’s clients in Malaysia include the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, several local Telcos and MEPS.

In 2010, Sam founded WatchTower and Friends (WTF) Sdn Bhd, an accelerator of web and mobile apps.

pitchIN, the premier Malaysian crowd funding platform that he co-founded was launched from the WatchTower and Friend accelerator in June 2012. To date, pitchIN has seen the largest amount crowd funded in South East Asia in its platform as well as recording the highest number of people supporting a single project. With the Government focusing its attention to allowing equity crowd funding in Malaysia, pitchIN has also sets it’s target to also operate it.

In March 2013, Sam ventured into his latest business, a brick and mortar company, co-founding Blok Space (www.blokspace.com), a recreational center for kids, using the power of LEGO to nurture creativity. Currently, Blok Space operates in 4 shopping complexes, namely IKANO, The School in Jaya One Petaling Jaya, the Main Place at USJ and Empire Subang Jaya. A 5th shop is also planned to open soon in 1Mont Kiara.

Sam is also a current committee member of the Malaysian Business Angel Network (MBAN)
