2016 Executive Committee

The 2016 AGM for IEEE Malaysia Computer Chapter has successfully concluded on the 16 January 2016. The AGM was held in Best Western Hotel, i-City, Shah Alam, from 2.30pm and ends at 4.30pm. Workshop on Arduino – Call For Participants (organized by IEEE Computer Society Malaysia)

14 November 2015, Lab 15, Faculty of Computer & Mathematical Sciences, UiTM Shah Alam, Selangor

Course Topics
1. Introduction to the world of Arduino, how to start working on Arduino.
2. Brief introduction to Arduino coding and installation of new libraries.
3. Different kind of sensors, and how quickly you can get a real-time plot from Arduino.
4. Programming Python to off-load complex and large codes away from Arduino.
5. Integration of Arduino with 3D environment.
6. Several example of communication project – Bluetooth LE, RF radio, Wi-Fi and direct communication.

Dr
Che Zulkhairi bin Abdullah is an academic staff at Multimedia University, beginning his career there from September 1999. He received his B.Sc.HBP (Architecture) in 1985 from University Science of Malaysia, and his M.Sc.Remote Sensing and GIS in 2005 from University Putra of Malaysia. He completed his PhD in December 2013 in the field of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in The University of Birmingham.

He is a subject expert in the field of Film & Animation, Computer Graphics, Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, Industrial Design, Interface Design and Game design.

His research project is within the fields of Image Processing, Relief Shelter Design,  Robotic control and design, LEGO design, Python coding, 8051 microprocessor, 3D simulation based on VPython and Unity3D, and integration of various devices, software and system to produce functional prototype.

Current effort includes the development of cheap yet reliable Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Intel Edison and 8051-based testing system for validating relief shelter design. This includes the study of strength, loading, heat distribution, stress, weather impact and etceteras.

Malaysia Sofware Engineering Conference 2015 | 16-17 Dec 2015

MySEC2015 is the ninth regional software engineering conference with the aim to converge researchers and practitioners from academia, industry and government sectors to advance the state-of-the-art of software engineering research and practice. This conference is sponsored and internationally recognised by IEEE.

This year members of Malaysian Software Engineering Interest Group (MySEIG), and Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia, are co-organising this event. The programme will provide numerous opportunities for academic and industry delegates to collaborate and learn from each other. MySEC2015 will be hosted in Seri Kembangan, a neighbouring city of Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia on the 16th-17th December 2015. The conference venue is located next to The Mines Shopping Mall, which could be a perfect venue for you to shop for Christmas gifts and New Year 2016.

This year, MySEC2015 is inviting academics, researchers, and practitioners to propose special sessions in the conference. The special sessions focus on critical and emerging topics in software engineering, preferably of interest to a relatively large audience.
